Full Product Description

HeroEE 8 — 8kWh Modular Storage, Expandable to 128kWh

The HeroEE 8 is an 8,038.4Wh (8kWh) low-voltage residential storage battery built on HiTHIUM's 314Ah large-format LiFePO4 cells at 25.6V nominal. It stores solar or grid energy for household and small commercial use, and up to 16 units run in parallel for 128kWh of total capacity.

Rated for 11,000 cycles, with a modular architecture designed so individual units can be serviced without taking the system down.

25.6V — Built for 24V Systems

The HeroEE 8 operates at 25.6V nominal, making it a 24V-class battery. This is the key selection criterion: your inverter or PCS must support a 24V DC bus. If your system is built around a 48V inverter, the HeroEE 16 at 51.2V is the correct choice.

For smaller off-grid installations, telecom sites, and applications already standardised on 24V equipment, staying at 25.6V avoids replacing an entire inverter and balance-of-system.

Flexible Expansion — 8kWh to 128kWh

Start with a single 8kWh unit and grow in 8kWh increments. Up to 16 units in parallel deliver 128kWh — enough for multi-household compounds, small workshops, clinics, schools and telecom sites.

The smaller 8kWh building block means finer capacity granularity than a 16kWh module: you buy what the load actually needs rather than rounding up.

11,000 Cycles

The HeroEE 8 is rated for 11,000 cycles, measured at 25°C, 100% depth of discharge, 0.5P, to 70% state of health. At one full cycle per day, that is approximately 30 years of service and over 88 MWh of lifetime energy throughput from a single unit.

For anyone calculating levelised cost of storage rather than upfront price, this is the number that matters. Lead-acid banks deliver 500 to 1,500 cycles; NMC lithium typically 3,000 to 6,000.

Power Delivery

Maximum charge and discharge current is 200A, which at 25.6V corresponds to approximately 5.12kW. Actual system output is determined by your inverter — the battery's 200A ceiling supports inverters up to roughly 5kW per unit, with parallel units raising that proportionally.

Maintenance-Free Modular Design

Independent modules mean individual units can be tested or replaced without disassembling the full system. For installers managing distributed sites, that translates directly into lower service costs and shorter downtime — a single faulty module doesn't take a 128kWh bank offline.

Flexible System Configuration

The HeroEE 8 is designed to be configured with a PCS and other components as required, rather than locked to one topology. Communication runs over CAN, RS485 and RS232, with WiFi and Bluetooth available as options, supporting integration with major inverter brands and remote monitoring platforms.

A touchscreen display provides local status and diagnostics without a laptop or app.

All-Round Safety

Lithium iron phosphate chemistry, the most thermally stable lithium type available, with integrated BMS protection and natural cooling — no fans, no moving parts, no filters to service.

Installation Notes

The HeroEE 8 carries an IP30 rating for indoor installation only — a dry, ventilated utility room, garage, plant room or equipment cabinet. It cannot be exposed to rain, spray or damp.

A compatible 24V inverter or PCS is required and sold separately.

HeroEE Cells Powered by HiTHIUM

HiTHIUM ranked among the global top 3 for energy storage battery shipments in 2024 and manufactures its own cells in-house rather than sourcing from third parties — single-source accountability from cell chemistry through to finished system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the HeroEE 8?
The HeroEE 8 is an 8,038.4Wh (8kWh) low-voltage residential energy storage battery built on HiTHIUM 314Ah LiFePO4 cells at 25.6V nominal. It stores solar or grid energy for household and small commercial use, and expands to 128kWh across 16 parallel units.

Does the HeroEE 8 include an inverter?
No. The HeroEE 8 is a battery module and requires a compatible 24V inverter or PCS, sold separately. If you need an all-in-one system with a built-in inverter, the HeroEE MaxPower 8 AIO combines the same 8kWh capacity with a 5000W inverter and 9000W solar input.

What is the difference between the HeroEE 8 and the HeroEE 16?
The HeroEE 8 operates at 25.6V with 8kWh of capacity and expands to 128kWh, while the HeroEE 16 operates at 51.2V with 16kWh and expands to 256kWh. The voltage is the deciding factor: the HeroEE 8 requires a 24V-compatible inverter, and the HeroEE 16 requires a 48V one.

How much power can the HeroEE 8 deliver?
The HeroEE 8 has a maximum charge and discharge current of 200A, which at 25.6V corresponds to approximately 5.12kW per unit. Actual system output depends on the inverter used, and connecting units in parallel increases available power proportionally.

How long does the HeroEE 8 last?
The HeroEE 8 is rated for 11,000 cycles measured at 25°C, 100% depth of discharge, 0.5P, to 70% state of health. At one cycle per day that is approximately 30 years, representing over 88 MWh of lifetime energy throughput. Lead-acid batteries typically deliver 500 to 1,500 cycles and NMC lithium 3,000 to 6,000.

Can the HeroEE 8 be expanded?
Yes. Up to 16 HeroEE 8 units can be connected in parallel for a total of 128kWh. Because each block is 8kWh rather than 16kWh, capacity can be matched more precisely to the actual load, and systems can start small and grow without replacing existing batteries.

Is the HeroEE 8 portable?
No. Despite appearing in some retail listings as a portable power station for outdoor use, the HeroEE 8 is a floor-standing residential energy storage battery requiring fixed indoor installation and a separate inverter. For portable use, the HeroEE 1, HeroEE 2 and HeroEE LIGHT 1 range from 1kWh to 2kWh with built-in inverters.

Where can the HeroEE 8 be installed?
The HeroEE 8 carries an IP30 rating and is rated for indoor installation only, in a dry, ventilated space such as a utility room, garage, plant room or equipment cabinet. It cannot be exposed to rain, spray or damp conditions. It uses natural convection cooling with no fans or filters requiring service.

Which inverters work with the HeroEE 8?
The HeroEE 8 communicates over CAN, RS485 and RS232, with WiFi and Bluetooth available as options, and is designed to be configured with a PCS or hybrid inverter as required. The essential requirement is that the inverter supports a 24V DC bus, since the HeroEE 8 operates at 25.6V nominal. Confirm compatibility with your supplier before ordering.

How is the HeroEE 8 maintained?
The HeroEE 8 uses an independent modular design, so individual units can be tested or replaced without disassembling the full system. A single faulty module does not take the whole bank offline, which reduces service cost and downtime across distributed installations.

Who makes the HeroEE 8?
The HeroEE 8 is made by Shenzhen Hithium Hero Energy Equity Technology Co., Ltd. in Longhua District, Shenzhen, China. Its cells are produced by HiTHIUM, which ranked among the global top 3 for energy storage battery shipments in 2024.
